Laguna de Guatavita

My first posting!

Here we are at the Laguna de Guatavita. The town is about an hour and a half north of Bogota. A dirtroad leads you to a nature reserve. Pay a nominal fee for a ticket at a guide leads you on an hour and a half trek up a mountain. At the top you are greeted with the Laguna de Guatavita, a lake inset in the mountain (think Volcano but with water instead of lava)...pretty cool. A bus waits for you at the end to take you back to the bottom.

We also visited the town of Guatavita. It sits on a beautiful lake and all of the buildings in the town are a pretty white color. It's very picturesque, as is pretty much everything in Colombia.
