Aguacate

This is how you buy an avocado in Bogota...

They are so delicious and the biggest avocados I have ever seen. I bought one today for lunch tomorrow - traditional ajiaco soup. yum!

  1. HOly Cow! And i'll bet they're MUCH cheaper than the dollar per avocado we are charged here...

Last time there was a sale at my supermarket i ended up buying like 4 of them and made the largest bowl of guacamole i have ever laid eyes on. delicious. Could you post the avocado soup recipe?

I post some recipes on my blog, searching-for-sunrise.blogspot.com. The last one I posted was for Porcini Spare Ribs with Garlic Mashed Potatoes :)

  2. Mmm - sounds really good! Spare Ribs are one of those things I would never even attempt to cook. I'll have to check out your recipe (and your blog!).

The soup isn't exactly an avocado soup, but it has avocado in it. I buy the soup in the packet (it's called Ajiaco - I will try to get a real recipe), then add shredded chicken, capers, cream and sliced avocado.
